At the start of 2025 myself and two other incredible local artists, Alexandra Farrah and Anna Moir celebrated the opening of our group exhibition titled 'Tides of Change'. The two week long exhibition was held at The Public Gallery in Umina, a beautiful space owned by the creative powerhouse couple, Jen and Guy, who also run the beloved Centred Ceramics which operates next door to the gallery.
As a woman living on the Central Coast I feel immensely proud because we donated 20% of all proceeds to the Coast Shelter, a local charity who support women living in homelessness. A big thank you to Emma for stopping by and saying a few words about the charity and where and who the money would be helping. In the end we raised over a thousand dollars.
The opening night was a big success. We had allocated one hundred tickets, thinking we wouldn't get anywhere near yet managed to fill the space and max out the capacity... huge.
We had some insanely generous vendors that supported the event, all local:
Upstairs Wines - kept everyone hydrated with their delish prosecco.
Anchor on Hardys - I don't know if I've ever seen such pretty charcuterie boards before. Safe to say, they tasted even better than they looked.
Cloverly Lane Studio - Yasmin, a photographer, captured the event so beautifully.
Grazing with Harm - delivered some of the most mouth watering cupcakes that were, no kidding, inhaled in seconds.
Centred Ceramics and Peter Steggall - donated three stunning vessels, which were painted by each artist and then silent auctioned throughout the exhibition. 100% of proceeds were donated to Coast Shelter.
The event was completely overwhelming in the best way possible. The energy was high and the gallery packed to the rafters. I feel so blessed to have a supportive community around me on the Central Coast and am grateful to everyone who took time out of their weekend to celebrate us local artists.
Until next time,
Jasmine
